Our Raw food recipe
10 lbs Chicken drumsticks (with skin on and bone in)
2 lbs Heart (chicken or beef)
0.5 lbs Liver (chicken or beef)
0.5 lbs Kidney or other organ (chicken or beef)
a bit of water
All ingredients listed are completely raw. I use the Tasin TS-108 Electric Meat Grinder from http://www.onestopjerkyshop.com/ with a 3/4" meat grinder plate to give a courser grind. I bag it all in medium freezer bags, about 2lbs in each bag (but you may want to put in less if feeding only one or two cats), and freeze it all.
At feeding time I add NuVet Plus Feline powder to their food. It is an immune system builder and also contains vitamins and minerals that are essential for a healthy cat! Serving size depends on the weight of your cat or kitten. Click on the info card below to order now!
It is a great idea to occasionally give different types of protein to get them used to eating different things, as sometimes cats can develop an allergy.
I also feed my adults whole raw chicken drumsticks, chicken/turkey gizzards, or chicken/turkey heart every evening. They absolutely love them, and it is a great way to keep their teeth clean as well as work their jaw. If you have a kitten you can start off by feeding larger chunks of meat, chicken heart, or cut up gizzards, and just work your way up in size.
